Trailblazers: Iowa Women’s Wrestling
In 2021, the University of Iowa announced the first ever power four women’s collegiate wrestling team. In 2023, the Hawkeyes wrestled their first ever dual under head coach Clarissa Chun. Since their first dual, the program has seen women’s wrestling become an official NCAA sport and have several more power four schools join in creating a program. This project spans from the moment of the first practices to the very first NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships in March, 2026, in Coralville, Iowa.
